I Ching Six-Line Divination Hexagram Tossing Operation Tutorial

I. Prerequisites for casting a hexagram

1. Determine what you want to predict.

First, you need to have something that Self cares about very much, wants to know the result in advance, or wants to know how it will develop over the next period.

For example:

• Will a certain stock rise or fall next week?
• Will the business currently under negotiation succeed?

2. Find a Static room

Choose a static room where no one will disturb you.

Enter the room alone and close the door securely, turn off the TV, music, phone, and other devices that may cause distraction, and switch your mobile phone to airplane mode.

Once ready, according to Self's habit, choose one of the two following hexagram-casting methods.

II. The first method: casting a hexagram online

Step 1: Open the online divination website.

Step 2: Fill in the divination information.

Enter the I Ching Six-Line online divination page, and fill in the relevant information according to the page prompts.

• Name of the hexagram querent: enter your name or nickname.
• Other information: Select according to the page prompt.

Step 3: Select online divination

Select in the divination method."Online Divination".

Step 4: Concentrate the mind (1–2 minutes)

After filling in the divination information and opening the online hexagram-tossing interface, do not start tossing the hexagram for now.

Step 6: Generate the chart

Three, the second method: traditional coin tossing divination

Step 1: Prepare the tools

• A pen.

Step 2: Hold the copper coins together with both hands.

Place three copper coins in the palms of both hands, and bring both hands together naturally.

Step 3: Concentrate the mind (1–2 minutes)

Hold three copper coins in both hands, relax your body and mind, and clear your thoughts.

Keep thinking about this question in your mind repeatedly, try not to get distracted, and do not think about other things.

After concentrating your thoughts for 1 to 2 minutes, continue thinking about this matter and begin the formal divination by shaking the coins.

Step 4: The first hexagram toss

Hold three copper coins clasped in both hands, shake them gently, and let the coins flip freely in your palms.

Then toss the three copper coins onto the table together.

Wait until the three copper coins completely stop rolling, then observe which side of each is facing up.

On the bottom line of the paper, record the heads and tails of the three copper coins.

Take the three copper coins back into your hand again.

Keep thinking about the same question, then shake the Moving copper coins again and toss them.

Step 6: Open the online charting website.

Step 7: Choose manual hexagram casting.

IV. Points to Note When Casting Hexagrams

1. One matter, one question:Predict only one thing that the Self truly cares about at a time.
2. Solitude Static:Find a quiet room, cast the hexagram alone, and avoid interruptions from others.
3. Focus your mind:After preparing the divination tools or the online divination interface, focus your mind for 1 to 2 minutes, concentrating on the matter you wish to predict.
4. Stay focused:Throughout the entire divination process, always keep the same matter in mind; do not change the question midway.
5. Natural hexagram tossing:Natural shake Moving, toss the copper coins, do not control the result artificially.
6. Six times in a row:Complete all six divination tosses; do not miss or add any tosses.
7. Record from bottom to top:The result of the first toss is placed at the bottom, and the result of the sixth toss is placed at the top.
